David Spicer has, over the decades and in pursuit of the word, worked as dishwasher, bottle loader, record warehouser, carpet roll dragger, burger flopper, ditch digger, weather observer, furniture mover, Manpower flunky, gas pumper, bookseller, tutor, 11th and 12th grade English teacher, magazine and book editor and publisher, typesetter, librarian’s assistant, printing company and medical journal proofreader. He has had poems published in The American Poetry Review, Chiron Review, Delta Poetry Review, Moria, The Naugatuck River Review, Ploughshares, Reed Magazine, Remington Review, Santa Clara Review, Synaeresis,Yellow Mama, and in hundreds of other magazines. His poems have been nominated for The Best of the Net four times times and for the Pushcart twice. The author of Everybody Has a Story, Waiting for the Needle Rain, Confessional, and American Maniac, plus six chapbooks, he is the former editor of raccoon, Outlaw, and Ion Books.
